First Post - why a blog?

To self publish; to use this new exciting real-time medium to communicate across the planet. Not that long ago, one had to spend big $$$, big contacts or be famous to get published; now any shmuck can do it on the web.

So here's my banal attempt at it. Hope to share worthwhile thoughts and points of view with whoever cares to listen.
